oh yeah :P though, at my Church we don't talk about politics, we talk about the Bible, and it's pretty hard to pick out "left-wing" "right-wing" stuff out of that

Obama would make a better president than all the Republican candidates. Plus, he's probably the best out of all the Democratic nominees.

By the way, there are more churches in the United States than just yours, which are more than likely the ones he's talking about.

Now, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't like it if a preacher kept shooting down my beliefs when I was trying to worship God. After all, a church is supposed to be a place of worship, not a place of political discussion. That's what Obama was talking about.

I'm sorry, but Obama would not make a better president than any of the top-tier Republican candidates, and even some of the second-tiers. He's inexperienced, naive, and will drive America into a downward spiral with his Leftist agenda.

"After all, a church is supposed to be a place of worship, not a place of political discussion."

And if you had read my comment above yours, you would have heard a paraphrased version of such a statement. To say that Religion has been "hijacked" by the Right is out of line. But I can't say it surprises me that it came from a member of one of the most liberal denominations.

I find it completely ridiculous that there can be "liberal" and "conservative" Christians, myself. The only only thing I can think of related to politics that has ever been discussed at my Church is homosexuality. The Bible clearly says, several times, that it is a sin (Lev. 18:22, 20:13; Deut. 23:17; Romans 1:26-27; There are several others, if you'd like me to show you). The Bible sets standards on who can and cannot be Deacons and Pastors (1 Tim. 3), and I am confident homosexuals and females are in the "cannot" area.

MY Preacher preaches from, and only from, the Bible. The Bible says the scriptures are The Word of God, and we believe that to be the truth. The passages are mostly straightforward in what is right and what is wrong. If you want to discuss "Conservative" vs. "Liberal" Christians, the difference is that Conservative Christians is that "Liberal Christians" view the Bible symbolically and are critical of the things in it that they disagree with. Conservative Christians believe it to be, as it states (2 Tim. 3:16), that it is the Word of God. And taking everything in it to mean whatever you want to mean is sinful (Revelation 22:19). That's the Bible as I know it and they I've come to expect it to be preached.
